Force Tools and Junior Racing Developments have formed a new alliance to support the initiative developed by JRD to assist in developing young racing drivers and prepare and train them to develop their driving skills giving them every chance of following their dreams of one day becoming a professional race car driver.
Following the launch, JRD had the Sabre 02 in action at Round 2 of the
Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship at Sandown and it could
not have been a more perfect start for the Sabre 02. Setting a blinding
pace right from the first practice session on Friday, the JRD Sabre had
the rest of the Formula Vee paddock scratching their collective heads as
Daniel Reinhardt continually ran under lap record pace.
With much expectation, Junior Racing Development launched the first of
the new Borland Racing Developments Sabre 02 Formula Vee’s on
Thursday evening. With industry and media representatives together
with supporting partners and invited guests present Brett MacLennan of
JRD outlined the team’s mission whilst Borland Racing Developments
General Manager – Paul Zsidy spoke of the history of the Sabre 02’s
development before revealing the new car with JRD’s Michael
Reinhardt. Two young kart stars present for the launch, Brittany Hall and
Liam Morey were both highly impressed with the Sabre 02, its
technology and the overall likeness to the Spectrum Formula Ford.

Qualifying on Saturday had Daniel driving the Force Tools JRD Sabre
02 to pole position with a time over 1 second clear of the next best,
again under lap record time. This was backed up later in the day with a
first outing race win much to the delight of all in the JRD and Borland
Racing Developments camps. Race 2 on Sunday morning saw a
continuance of the impressive debut of the Force Tools JRD Sabre 02
with a further victory. Race 3 brought added joy for the team and no
doubt significant satisfaction for Michael Borland as Daniel set a new
official lap record on his way to his third victory for the weekend. There
was a high level of expectation for Daniel going into Race 4 given his
speed over the previous races and he did not disappoint as he delivered
not only his fourth victory for the meeting but a rare - pole position, clean
sweep of race victories and new lap record for a car on race debut.
